A Few Of My Favortie Things- 2018

As 2018 comes to a close, I wanted to share with you a few of the things that made 2018 a year of complete upleveling and expansion for me.

1. The Holy Wild- Danielle Dulsky

This book has really spoken to my soul this year. Each story feels like I am returning home to a different piece of myself. Honoring of the wild feminine with words that go deep.

2. This is Woman’s Work- Dominique Christina

Lovely, poetic take on the feminine archetypes.

3. The Sun and Her Flowers- Rupi Kaur

I’ve gotten more and more into poetry over the last year or so since beginning my PhD program since I don’t have large swaths of time to read. And Rupi Kaur is my go to along with Nayyirah Waheed. Kaur’s poetry talks of growth, healing, ancestry, and ultimately finding a home within yourself.

4. The Big Leap- Gay Hendricks

A quick read that encouraged me to get beyond the comfort of my zone of excellence to get into that zone of genius where I can truly share what’s inside of me in a way that is meaningful and fulfilling.

5. White Spaces Missing Faces- Catrice M. Jackson

As we all know and have felt, this year has been a challenging one in terms of divisive rhetoric and action in the US. As part of my inner work, I have been doing my own anti-racism work and learning so that I can continue to be a truly intersectional feminist. This book triggered me and taught me and I have learned a lot about myself in the process.

6. Me and White Supremacy Workbook- Layla Saad

This workbook. Whoa. If you’re interested in doing your anti-racism work, you need to go through the exercises that Layla Saad has generously put together. It’s a 28 day deep dive into where white supremacy lurks in each of us, and can be the eye opening kick in the pants you need if you let it.

7. Kicking Horse Espresso Blend

My constant companion for all business, PhD work, and engineering work. A good strong cup of coffee. These beans are my fave.

8. Citrine Crystal Chunk

My constant companion that sits on my desk where I write and study. I feel the cleansing, compassionate, yet no BS energy from this stone.

9. The Mary-el Tarot

This is the deck for me for doing shadow work. If you want to do a deep dive, do some intuitive pulls from this deck.

10. The Greatest Showman (Soundtrack and Movie!)

My kids are obsessed and so am I. Best TV musical since Annie.

11. Essential Oil Inhalers

This is always in my desk to go along with my crystal. Love taking a whiff of the essential oils to take the edge off without any adverse effects.

12. UV Gel Nails

Total nail uplevel. Enough said.

13. These LL Bean Shirts

Listen. I work in a power plant. And this is what I wear under my uniform and pretty much every other day as well. So comfy.

14. Tarot for the Wild Soul

Amazing course on the Tarot from the legendary Lindsay Mack. If you have any desire to learn Tarot, jump in on this course when it next opens.

Hope you enjoy!  Let me know what some of your favorites from 2018 were!
